“We have been committed to Green Accord accreditation since we were first accredited in 2009.  The accreditation is easy to follow, affordable and helps demonstrate to clients our environmental awareness.

We find it invaluable as an accessible tool to assess our progress in improving the sustainability of our business.  Over the years we have significantly improved our recycling and now have streams for many hard-to-recycle by-products of sign-making.  As well as improving our environmental footprint, this has also saved us money in waste disposal costs.  We have also reduced our energy usage as we have been able to replace equipment with more sustainable options.”

“We see the low carbon objective intrinsic in transitioning our company, our operations and culture, and the buildings we design, re-fit or re-model towards a sustainable Net Zero future.

Like Rome, Net Zero won’t be built in a day but by embracing a monitor, review and improve approach we naturally progress on yesterday’s achievements.  Using an accreditation scheme such as Green Accord we now have a well-defined efficient pathway to success with support and guidance in implementation.

As a company we have already enjoyed seeing increased benefits including improved tender chances, legal compliance, reduced operational waste and a reduction in travel costs.  We have further increased employee morale with some of our initiatives and of course appeasement of our personal and company consciences knowing we leave our bit of the world in a better place than when we found it.”

“Having the Green Accord lets clients know A1 is environmentally aware, that we operate green practises and are a professional business. This has helped us secure new tender opportunities. The accreditation is easy to follow and affordable for a small business like mine.

The guidance helps me to review how we operate, such as monitoring our waste and improving our disposal of electrical parts. This has allowed us to change aspects of our operation– we now recycle much more, and the bins we previously emptied every month are now collected every 2 months, making a financial saving as well as environmental. We have also installed solar panels at the office which have brought energy savings and an income.”

“The Green Accord is a valuable tool in assessing our environmental standards and identifying areas for improvement. We have made savings on fuel costs, through planning and vehicle sharing, and have overall reduced our energy and fuel use – the Green Accord is very much about practical actions. We were determined to gain the highest level of accreditation, so were inspired to achieve ISO:4001.”
